Originally known as Hollandale in the early 1800s, the town flourished with the arrival of the Houston & Texas Central Railway in 1859. As a shipping hub in the 19th century, Navasota became a crossroads of culture, trade, and southern character. It’s also known as the “Blues Capital of Texas,” honoring its rich music legacy. Today, beautifully preserved Victorian homes and the revitalized downtown speak to the community’s respect for its past.
