A bathroom redesign entails substituting several current parts, machines, surfaces, and endings in a room to give it an updated look. It can range from quite straightforward endeavors that update an antique bathroom with fresh tile or a recent vanity to complicated many-component jobs of the whole room.In any case, there are several basic steps you can expect in the majority of bathroom reconstructions.

The full process of substituting all fixtures and finishes requires a bit of knowledge of plumbing, joinery, and electrics. Also, regulations from your nearby construction section may require the help of a certified builder. You should speak with with your constructor or planner first to learn more concerning these specifics."

Is there anything I must to do before a bathroom redesign?

You should select the components you desire well in advance of your remodel. If the modes or colors are not available, it may be required to postpone your overhauling until they are back in supply. Also, decide whether or not you intend to do a complete overhaul and remove all present components and endings before the remodel begins.

Taking out everything will save time on the reconstruction, but it will also demand more storage space. Your constructor should be capable to offer advice on this important query.

How long will the bathroom redesign take?

Nearly all domestic bathrooms are finished within 7-12 days after all work order approvals have been procured from your nearby development division and subcontractors are ready for site meetings.

What is incorporated in a bathroom reconstruct?

Expect to replace your present toilet, sink(s), cabinets, floor surface and fixtures. Nearly all bathrooms are being redesigned with tile or stone floors and wet walls today rather than sheet vinyl.

What is the most expensive type of bathroom?

This is difficult to answer because most bathroom redesigning expenses are personalized to customer requirements and preferences. For illustration, a master bath may be much expensive than a small half-bath in an apartment complex. Bathrooms on the water's edge in Florida or Hawaii will definitely be significantly costly than a bedroom bath on the second floor of a Manhattan apartment.

One thing to hold in mind is that bath redesigning prices can differ notably relying on the number of rooms you are having redone. For example, incorporating a master suite or a handicapped accessible bathroom may notably boost your price range and cost of building.

How much will my design/renovation financial plan be?

Every single situation is different, and it's not possible to give a specific answer without understanding specifically what sort of changes the property owner has in mind. Undoubtedly, adding a whirlpool tub or substituting an antique washbasin increase costs considerably.

How many bathrooms can I have done simultaneously?

You may wish to consider having all of the refurbishments finished at one time. Frequently a homeowner finds it difficult to find time to do multiple projects and most specialists agree that it is best to complete all the refurbishments at once. This will guarantee that your residence looks like one project, not a few different ones.

Can I have just an update instead of a reconstruct?

A cheaper option might be an "refresh" as opposed to a total remodel. This might include substituting the bathtub with a shower and updating flooring, counters, or lighting.

What should I do if one bathroom is suitable and another is old-fashioned?

You can have two bathrooms refreshed at separate times by picking either an update for the outdated bathroom or a complete makeover / reconstruct for the more appropriate bathroom.

What is the most expensive component of a bathroom reconstruction?

In a redesign, plumbing fixtures and electrical fixtures are usually the very high-priced items. Bathroom redesigns can price out as much as $8-15k depending on the dimension of the room and how many components require to be changed.

What type of resources should I pick for my new bathroom?

Nowadays' trend is to use tile or stone floors with moist walls. Cupboards can be purchased in a range of wood finishing touches and dyes, but the most popular resources are maple and cherry rather than oak.

What is the top way to choose bathroom accessories?

This will depend on the residence constructor (contractor). Many builders leave this decision up to the purchaser since it is a matter of taste.

What are the most crucial things in a bathroom?

The primary aim of a bathroom is for the ease and convenience of its users, so those factors should be considered first when organizing remodels. If added space becomes available due to other renovations (i.e., kitchen), then extra features can often be added into the layout.

What are the more in-demand bathroom sink styles?

The most usual design is a pedestal sink which has become very popular due to their clean lines and traditional look. The second most famous sink design is one that is recessed into the countertop. However, there are many shapes and sizes of vessel sinks accessible for those who are searching for something a liitle different.

What are the most in-demand bathroom shower designs?

The most common is a tub/shower blend succeeded by a walk-in shower and traditional bathtub. However, there is a growing demand for standalone showers due to the space they save in smaller bathrooms and their ease of use with the aged segment.

Does a walk-in shower contribute value to a bathroom?

A bathroom with a walk-in shower will add more significance to your home than one with a tub/shower combo. In fact, various people are choosing to reconstruction their bathrooms to fit standalone showers when constructing new residences or for reasons of increased comfort while bathing.

What is the optimal width and length for a walk-in shower?

Anything under than 30" wide is not recommended, as it's challenging to get in and out of. A 36" wide shower is typically a favorable wideness for the majority of people. As much as length goes – the regular size is 5 feet, but anything from 3 to 6 feet long would be acceptable if you have the area.

What is the top type of seat for a walk-in shower?

There are multiple kinds available, but most people prefer the traditional built-in bench because it is more convenient to wash and doesn't take up precious floor space.

How do I know what attachments to choose?

It's easiest if you have your contractor add the fixtures through the rough-in stage, but if you can't delay until then – measure your existing shower head and faucet handles. They are probable to be standardized as ½" IPS (iron pipe size). If they are not, many home improvement stores will carry a adapter set.

Do I need to worry about insulation?

Waterproof insulation behind the shower's waterproofing layer is essential to prevent a frigid, moist shower when cold outside.

How do I keep the wall surface from turning too wet?

Too much dampness can impair your tiles and mortar, causing them to wipe away or alter dye. The finest solution is to opt for well-designed tiles with good drainage. For zones that demand more protection, you can utilize a drainage mat.

What's the finest approach to waterproof tiles?

Commence by placing rigid heat retention behind the wall, mount plastic moisture barrier over the heat retention and then attach ½-inch drywall to it. If you are worried about moisture from water spattering up from the shower base or bathtub, incorporate a layer of plastic over the tiling before you place it.

What is the best compound for mortar?

Grout joints ought to be less than 1/8-inch wide and no more than half of the way through the density of your tiling. Securing them and retaining them from collecting debris like hair, lint, and soap are important to their long life too.

Can I install new tiling over current tiling?

For better results, remove the antique ones. If you can't access a particular tile effortlessly or it's too tough to detach, cover it with plastic wrap and secure it so fungus can't expand behind it. Add adhesive onto the wall where your new tiles are placed.

What is a stall shower?

A stall shower has side walls and an entrance, with a bottom opening that is flush with the remainder of the floor. The different most common type of shower—the walk-in shower—is periodically known as a "{curtainless|no curtain|without a curtain" or "uncovered" shower.

Is it superior to have a tub or shower for re-marketing worth?

Bathtubs bring retailing worth down, showers higher.

Will not having a tub in the master bath hurt resell value?

No, not at all. If you do desire to place a bathtub and the residence does not already have one, think about installing a separate walk-in tub instead of changing it with a normal shower - you'll secure more for your investment by doing that.

What is the optimal flooring for bathrooms?

Ceramic tile is almost always an excellent choice for floors in bathrooms and other wet areas. The grout lines can be enclosed with a protective layer that will assist ward off mold growth and water harm. Marble is a different solid flooring option for bathrooms. If the marble is processed, it can be used outdoors as well. With a glossed finish, and pleasant sheen, it requires fewer care than other stone types. Stone slabs or pavers will persist practically forever but are not constantly very comfortable on bare feet (because of their rough boundaries).

What might you bring about with a badly located bathtub?

Several elements influence determining the most suitable bathroom configuration, including the size of the room and whether you wish to put in a shower alongside your tub or vice versa. You may be able to make it work by repositioning your toilet, restoring the tub, or by selecting an altered design.

Can you set a shower in a space lacking a window?

A basement bathroom with no external walls is an solution. You will have to establish adequate illumination and ventilation, or opt for steam fixtures that can also operate as ventilation fans.

What is the optimal substance to apply on bathroom walls?

You can apply wallpaper, but it's not easy to alter later. Latex paint and wallpaper coated with vinyl are less challenging to remove in case you opt to sell your home in a several years.

How do you develop more space in a bathroom?

Install cabinets and shelving. Utilize your walls, the roof, or a edge of the room for holding in case you can't insert a cabinet. A fabric shower basket hung from hooks is another thought and it offers a straightforward way to remove excess mess while adding décor at the same time.

Is there anything I should avoid when renovating a bathroom?

Don't try to do everything at once. It's wiser to have a bathroom that works well rather than doing an action you may lament later. For illustration, if the drainage and wiring cannot handle an supplementary shower head, don't add it until they are enhanced.

We recently completed a kitchen remodel with Good Company and it looks amazing! The owner, Daniel M. and his project manager Daniel L. were so timely and both had great communication skills. We have remodeled many homes and rooms, but this process was the easiest. The bids were clear and detailed, the subcontractors were terrific, and they even finished the project early. I am so impressed and will absolutely use Good Company Construction again in the future.

Good Company Construction was an amazing company to work with. The process started with Tyler helping create & price the scope of work and selections. Mathew was present daily on the job site to make sure all the details were taken care of. He was always professional, patient, & helpful with any concerns I had. I had them repair some drywall. You could not tell where the very large hole had been. They were quick to come out to give a quote, then came out the next day to fix it, and had it completely done that same day. Very pleased and will use again.

My wife and I used Good Company Construction on a MAJOR remodel of our house including a complete gutting of the kitchen, complete new flooring throughout the house, painting throughout, raising the sunken living room floor, new baseboards and trim, a new (and relocated) island in the kitchen, quartz countertops, installing new ceiling beams in the living room, and building custom cabinets in kitchen and living room. I'm sure I'm leaving some things out. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of their work. Colton Cook, the owner of the company, and Mathew Kruse, the site supervisor, not only did an outstanding job but were also great to work with. They went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied with the work done. I should also add that they not only did quality work, but they are quality people as well. We are VERY happy with the end product. They next time we need anything done on the house (though I do hope it's a while) we will call Good Company first. We can't recommend them highly enough.
